La ruta se inicia en dirección norte por caminos del altiplano que atraviesan paisajes áridos y quebradas. El trayecto es breve y escénico, ideal para una transición gradual hacia zonas de actividad geotérmica.
El recorrido contempla una parada en un sector de actividad geotérmica, donde es posible observar emanaciones de vapor y manifestaciones propias de los géiseres del altiplano. Esta visita permite comprender la dinámica volcánica de la zona y el origen de las aguas termales que caracterizan el área.
Las Termas de Puritama se encuentran emplazadas en un cañón rodeado de vegetación nativa. El recinto cuenta con pasarelas de madera, baños básicos y áreas de descanso, en un entorno tranquilo y bien acondicionado.
